Interviews and Bonus Tracks.
The Doobie's 1982 farewell concert has finally
found it's way on to DVD. This would be one of the last times the band would
play together with all the original members.
All the hits are here and of course Michael McDonald's writing and
unmistakable vocals are what really made the band the success they became
during his era. This was also recorded at around the same time
that McDonald and Patrick Simmons solo careers were starting to
launch which gave them the opportunity to play some of their
own "new" songs.
The video source seems to be from tape, but some effort was put into
making it in widescreen format. There is some blurring in the wide shots,
but it beats the quality of the original VHS release. The original stereo
audio mixes have been enhanced into DTS and Dolby Digital 5.1 giving a
little more definition to the sound.
There are also a handful of extras including interviews and bonus tracks,
and founding member Tom Johnston joins the band on stage for a cameo
appearance.
