There is nothing like
watching an Alice Cooper concert in HD. Right from the get go the visual
presentation is impressive. It's the next best thing to being there. Really.
Cooper's huge act suits the Montreux stage well. This 2005 concert
spans his whole musical career from
the early favorites like "Billion Dollar Babies", "I'm Eighteen" and "No
More Mr. Nice Guy" to the ballads "I Never Cry" and "Only Women Bleed" to
the rockers "Poison" and "School's Out".
Both the DTS HD and Dolby Digital Plus tracks really recreate a true to life
experience. The uncompressed audio is very faithful to the live sound of his
shows.
The full benefit of HD DVD is really used here and Cooper fans will have
their fill. And yes, there is a guillotine and strait jacket!

"We all came down to
Montreux" goes the opening line of "Smoke On The Water" the song synonymous
with Deep Purple.
This is the band's first concert available in High Definition. The picture
quality was pretty good, but I did notice some occasional blurring
throughout.
That being said, the sound quality is exceptional.
The DTS track really delivers the goods. Good sound mixing really captures
the live show experience. One of the best I have heard on HD-DVD yet.
In addition to the main Montreux show, there is also an intimate 60 minute
hard rock show recorded at the Hard Rock Cafe in London.
